Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing Technologies, LLC was established in a cozy basement in Harford County, MD.
It was a scary, yet exciting time.
The goal was to be able to provide a full turnkey product development service to startups and large corporations alike.
Initially, the company relied on a network of independent consultants – brilliant engineers, designers and fabricators – to support customer projects.
First turnkey industrial design effort: Point of Service diagnostic instrument for addictive medicine. From concept to operational prototype in 4 months.
First turnkey system development: wave energy harnessing system designed to convert mechanical energy from waves to electricity. 10 systems designed and built.
The team started growing with our first official employee, Rob, joining from our Westfield, NY office.
Development of a full line of tracking devices, from single board devices (lowest power in market) with satellite communications to mission specific Man Overboard device.
Wolfpack design: Concept and design surveillance system for K9 units that reduces stress on vertebrae and survives aggressive Malinois Belgian Shepard and other law enforcement and search and rescue dogs.
General use consumer product: Gnarbox PC in a box, mechanical and design for manufacturability.
Peter Francho, Maryland State Comptroller, visited RPM Tech and witnessed our engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Purchased our new facility in Forest Hill.
We moved to our new facility in Forest Hill.
This move provided us the ability to rapidly grow our resources, team, and opportunities.
RPM Tech’s Model Shop expanded its capabilities to add CNC, and sheet metal fabrication.
Today, our team includes model makers, technicians, industrial design, electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and system engineering talent, as well as prototyping, assembly, fabrication and testing capabilities.
With a current team of more than 20 full time employees, RPM Tech innovates, solves problems, prototypes and helps its customers transition their concept to production.
We are fortunate to have found an amazing team of talented, curious individuals from all walks of life. As a team, RPM Tech has grown into a successful product development company.
